Week 5: Blog and Twitter Response

This week on Twitter I mainly focused in on furthering my research on lobsters. I managed to find a lot of people associated with lobster research and many accounts in Maine that have to do with lobster sustainability practices. Some of the ones that I found are @lobsterinst, @GOMLF, and @sea_the_people. One of the most interesting posts that I read from these twitter @'s came as a retweet from @lobsterinst showing how the warming ocean is affecting lobster population. One of the more funny posts from my classmate, Yael, was about a parrot being interviewed and asked to impersonate other animals and sounds. I responded feeling like I would want to have a conversation with this parrot. I feel like it would have more to say than I would.

What I learned from reading the tweets is that a lot of people are probably doing their animals on either dolphins, birds, or elephants because those were the majority of the tweets that I saw. From seeing a lot of different information about these animals I was made aware of a lot of new information. For example I was amazed to find out @DayanaSheinin7 tweet about how dolphins would help injured dolphins by bringing them to the surface to breath. For my own tweets, one in particular that I really enjoyed learning about was the fact that:

This is vital process for communication in lobsters is most likely what I will be researching.

The blogs I reviewed were written by Tony P, Gavin F, and Pallavi R. I really enjoyed reading Tony’s Twitter update where he found a thread of an article where a bat species thought to be lost was found over 40 years later. It's cool to hear how some animals can be found many years later. I was curious to know more about the reasons for why this particular species was “lost”. For Gavin’s post I commented about the possible similarities among cheetah and lobster communication as they both attempt to mark their scent. Finally, in Pallavi’s writing, I commented on how I appreciated him leaving the @’s to the shark accounts as well as informing me of the whale information in the chapters written by Safina.

HI Jerrod. Here is my Review of your research agenda page:

1) Your research studies seem good. They all are research studies that are credible which is great. The first one of a bit older dating back to 2001, the second was published in 2009 which is fairly recent, and the last in 2014 which is also great! Two of the studies seem connected as they are both about emotions of lobsters, and the last one regarding lobster's effect on the environment seems on its own but could still be useful in your essay for sure. What you can improve on this part is putting a little more emphasis and detail on your big three summaries overall, and maybe lo…

Hello Jerrod Reboredo. I am glad you reviewed my research agenda. I believe you as my roommate, have had the conversation already on my selected sources. I clearly remember telling you I only found two research studies related to my topic by the big 3 due date. This is why I have 4 sources on my research agenda as I was told I can expand my topic and I found a research study later on. Maybe you just forgot, so I don't blame you. Anyways, here is my review of your research agendas page.

Review of the Research Agendas:

1)

I see you managed to find two more research studies as you before told me that you only found one.…
